Chicago Bulls vs. Minnesota Timberwolves picksThe Chicago Bulls, ravaged by injuries, will try to get off the canvas this Sunday when they go north to play the Minnesota Timberwolves on the road.

Chicago Bulls @ Minnesota Timberwolves – Sunday, March 24

In the realm of sport betting online, you're probably going to find a lot of debate about this game among bookies and the betting students who scour various 5dimes.com reviews during an NBA season. The thing that stands out about this game is that the Bulls have been destroyed by injuries this season. Not only has Derrick Rose been out for the duration, but valuable role players have not been in the lineup for most of the past few weeks.

Taj Gibson is an athletic, high-energy forward with length and great leaping ability. He is an impressive rebounder and a capable shot blocker who provides first-rate defense for the Bulls. He makes head coach Tom Thibodeau's system look a lot better on the floor.

Moreover, he lengthens Chicago's bench and enables players to remain fresh, particularly teammate Carlos Boozer. Gibson, though, has been injured for the past few weeks, and this is why the Bulls have lost six of their last 10 games to fall even lower in the Eastern Conference standings. The Bulls are closer to the No. 8 seed in the East than they are to the No. 2 seed in the East.

Gibson's absence has been a key reason for the Bulls' slide, and an injury to guard Kirk Hinrich has been another source of Chicago's recent woes. Hinrich is a capable shooter and an active defender who makes sound decisions on the court. Without him, the Bulls have become a threadbare team. With few players able to replace Gibson and Hinrich, the starters have become worn out, and this team has lost its ability to perform well on a regular basis. Gibson and Hinrich are trying to get back into the lineup as we speak, but they cannot be expected to be particularly polished or effective at this point, thereby giving Minnesota a chance to beat Chicago in Minneapolis.

However, if the deck is stacked against Chicago, the cards don't exactly favor Minnesota in this hardwood version of online poker. The central cog in the Timberwolves' machine, Kevin Love, has been out for several weeks at this point, and when that injury is matched up against the Bulls' injuries, Chicago's problems melt away. Minnesota, with Love, could play inside-out basketball and force the Bulls to collapse in the paint. Without Love, Chicago can maintain its foremost defensive responsibilities and not need to scramble to provide double-teams in the low post. The Bulls are always at their best when they don't have to take undue chances on defense, so for all of Chicago's problems, the Bulls are still likely to win this game on the road. Minnesota has won only three games since Feb. 20. If the Bulls think they have it bad these days, the Timberwolves are in worse shape.
