MLB season free picksThe best sports betting websites love the second half of the MLB season because so much can change in a short period of time. There are several teams in the middle of pennant races that are going to have to face teams on the verge of being knocked out of playoff contention when action gets started this weekend. If you are a fan of desperate baseball, then this weekend has several games you will be interested in. The sportsbook agents will be keeping a close watch on each of these games this weekend.

Saturday – Tampa Bay Rays @ New York Yankees

In one week’s time, the New York Yankees had Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez in the lineup and then the two stars were gone. As a player gets older, it can be more difficult to rehab from long-term injuries and that is exactly what happened to Jeter and Rodriguez. The other problem the Yankees are fighting is the poor play of its starting pitching. It seems like the wheels are coming off the New York Yankees’ 2013 season, but they can use this game against the Tampa Bay Rays as a springboard to a late-season playoff push. Unfortunately for the Yankees, the sports book experts very little chance that New York comes out of this game with a win.

My Pick: Tampa Bay Rays

Saturday – Pittsburgh Pirates @ Miami Marlins

The Pittsburgh Pirates are learning that they need to win the games against lesser opponents, along with the games against contenders, if they want to be playoff contenders themselves. The Miami Marlins pose little to no threat to the Pirates, but that is the kind of a trap that Pittsburgh has fallen into in the past. The best online sports betting experts are curious to see if the Pirates can stay focused now that they are still involved in the NL Central pennant race so late in the season. On the flip side, it will be interesting to see if Miami can beat out the Houston Astros for the worst record in all of baseball.

My Pick: Pittsburgh Pirates

Sunday – Texas Rangers @ Cleveland Indians

The Texas Rangers and Cleveland Indians both find themselves in second place in their respective divisions and trying to close in on their division leaders. The Rangers have been chasing the Oakland Athletics all season long and, as anyone who follows the AL West knows, anything can happen as the season winds down. The Indians have proven that they are definitely for real and not going anywhere during this final playoff push. The Detroit Tigers are not only surprised to see a 50+-win Cleveland team in their rearview mirror, they are surprised to see just how close to first place the AL Central that the Indians really are.

My Pick: Cleveland Indians
