Ryan Howard Leads the Phillies to win the SeriesRyan Howard hit a two-run double with two outs in the ninth inning and scored on a single by Jayson Werth to lead the Philadelphia Phillies overcome a 5-4 disadvantage and defeat the Colorado Rockies and thus won their series of first round play-off, 3-1.

Brad Lidge won his second consecutive save, again removing the cleanup hitter for the Rockies, Troy Tulowitzki, with two on to end the game pads. In the third game, Tulowitzki squared and struck out in the fourth.

The Phillies held at the Coors Field box of ice cream before retiring to his cabin to take another cold bath, but champagne.

The Phillies, champions of the World Series, will begin the series by the National League Championship on Thursday at 8:07 p. m. When they visit the Los Angeles Dodgers.

It will be a repeat of the championship series last year.

This was the fourth straight year in which none of the first-round series was extended until the fifth game to define them.

After Dexter Fowler jumped over Chase Utley and animate a cluster of three runs for the Rockies in the eighth, Howard and the Phillies responded with three runs in the ninth off closer Huston Street.

It seemed that the Rockies would send the series to bring back to Philadelphia after the hitter Yorvit Torrealba hit a double that broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the eighth.

This happened after Fowler scored the tying run with a pop single by Jason Giambi and two outs against reliever Ryan Madson.

Fowler jumped to Utley, who trod the path to the base to catch a slow roller by Todd Helton and his quick release to second was wide right and could not be controlled by shortstop Jimmy Rollins for an error.

That put two runners on base and hitting Tulowitzki and Madson relieved starter Cliff Lee in a double switch that also brought to left Ben Francisco to replace Raul Ibanez Cuban guards.

The Phillies fought and overcame the disadvantage to the Rockies' closer, Huston Street, to win the game and the series.
