Free Baseball PicksThe Los Angeles Dodgers were one of the National League’s hottest teams heading in to the 2013 All-Star break, climbing from the bottom of the NL West to within 2.5 games of the division lead. The Dodgers will look to pick up from where they left off when the second half of the regular season gets underway Friday, with a tough price per head pitching match up to welcome them back.

Los Angeles Dodgers @ Washington Nationals
Friday, 7:05 PM ET

Waiting for Los Angeles will be Stephen Strasburg and a Washington team that is nine games above .500 at home this sportsbook reviews season, but still facing an uphill climb to make the playoffs out of the NL East. However, Strasburg has struggled this year at 5-7 with a 2.99 ERA, and the Nationals have lost three of the last four games that he has started. The Dodgers will counter with the latest addition to their rotation in Ricky Nolasco, who they picked up from the Miami Marlins in a trade earlier this month. Nolasco has gone 1-1 while allowing just four earned runs over 12 innings of work in his first two starts with Los Angeles, and could be in line for another upset win.

My Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers + 140

Chicago Cubs @ Colorado Rockies
Friday, 8:40 PM ET

The rest of the NL West had struggled heading in to the All-Star break, including a Colorado team that had just four live betting wins in its previous 10 games. The Rockies will look to turn things around beginning with Jorge De La Rosa’s start against the Cubs on Friday, and he is 9-5 with a 3.21 ERA. Chicago has really struggled on the road all year and will counter with Jeff Samardzija, who has allowed 14 earned runs over his past 10.2 innings of work in consecutive losses for the Cubs.

My Pick: Colorado Rockies - 170

Arizona Diamondbacks @ San Francisco Giants
Friday, 10:15 PM ET

The Giants will look to get back on track following their fall from grace before the All-Star break, as the defending World Series champions dropped from first to worst in the NL West before climbing back in to fourth. News of Chad Gaudin’s off-field activities didn’t shed any positive light on his role in three-straight sports betting losses, but he did bounce back with a win in his final start before the All-Star break and has posted a 2.39 ERA. Arizona took advantage of San Francisco’s struggles to climb in to first place in the NL West, but Ian Kennedy has lost both of his starts since returning from a 10-game suspension and this will be the perfect opportunity for the Giants to strike back in the standings. My Pick: San Francisco Giants - 160
