Baseball Betting: Some Good MLB Games to Watch this Weekend

Bet on BaseballThis is the time of the MLB season when the best sports betting websites start to focus in on individual achievements and team accomplishments. There is plenty to watch out for as the teams take the field Saturday and look to improve their place in the various pennant races. Some of the pennant races are already a foregone conclusion. But there are still some races that the sportsbook agents are keeping a close eye on. Some teams are looking to gain some momentum for the final push towards the postseason, while others are doing their best to stay in the playoff hunt.

Saturday – Detroit Tigers @ New York Mets

For yet another season, the sports book experts are reporting that the New York Mets will not make the playoffs. It seems that not even the expanded wild card format is offering the New York Mets the breaks they need to enjoy at least one postseason game. The Detroit Tigers, on the other hand, look like they will be enjoying another trip to the postseason and the AL Central pennant.

But in this game, all eyes will be on Detroit pitcher Max Scherzer as he attempts to move closer to 20-win season. Scherzer puts his 18-1 record on the line against a Mets team that is 25-32 at home. This should be the game where Scherzer starts knocking on the door of that 20-win campaign.

My Pick: Detroit Tigers

Saturday – Boston Red Sox @ Los Angeles Dodgers

All of the talk about some games being a preview of the World Series has put this game between the Boston Red Sox and the Los Angeles Dodgers in the spotlight. It is too early to say for sure, but it appears as though both of these teams will enter the playoffs as strong competitors. The sports betting websites note that the Boston Red Sox have had plenty of good luck playing on the West Coast this season, especially against top teams in both the NL and the AL. The Los Angeles Dodgers started off this week trying to continue a stretch that saw them win nine out of 10 games. There won’t be any jet lag for the Red Sox as this is not the first game of the series. Considering how well Boston has played out west this season, there is every reason for Dodgers fans to be hesitant.

My Pick: Boston Red Sox

Saturday – New York Yankees @ Tampa Bay Rays

The New York Yankees have had plenty of distractions this season, and it looked like those distractions may derail New York’s season. It looks like the Yankees have finally gotten back on track and are working hard to gain an AL wild card spot. The Tampa Bay Rays are part of a three-way struggle for the AL East pennant and every win, especially wins over divisional opponents, is critical.

My Pick: Tampa Bay Rays
