Rangers vs. Yankees Betting Odds for Tuesday, 7:05 PM ETHeading into Tuesday’s baseball betting matchup between Texas and the Yankees in New York, if you saw Alexi Ogando going against C.C. Sabathia, which pitcher would you wager on having a 7-0 record? If you guessed Sabathia, you’re likely not the only one, and you would be wrong as Ogando has been on fire as he and the Rangers open up a three-game set against the Yankees.

Rangers vs. Yankees Betting – Tuesday, 7:05 PM ET

Ogando (7-0, 2.10) gave the Rangers 7.2 strong innings in a 7-3 win at home over Detroit, allowing a run on six hits, along with seven strikeouts and a pair of walks. In two of Ogando’s last 10 starts, he has been tagged for five runs, but in the other eight starts, he hasn’t allowed more than two runs, and six have been one run or less. Even those who follow NHL news would be impressed by those numbers, and compare to a goalie that is on a hot streak. One of those five-run outings came in his first-ever meeting with the Yankees, but Ogando took a no-decision in a 6-5 loss in New York in which he was taken deep three times.

C.C. Sabathia (7-4, 3.15) took his third loss against rival Boston as the Yankees fell 8-3 at home, as he was knocked for six runs on eight hits over 6.2 innings, striking out five and two walks. Sabathia actually had a shutout going into the seventh, but his workload could be catching up to him as he averages 109.4 pitches per game, and his total number of pitches puts him seventh in the majors in that category. The 30-year-old lefty is 9-3 in 16 starts against the Rangers with an ERA of 4.39, and he is 2-2 in seven starts at home with a 4.07 ERA, which is higher than his 2.28 ERA on the road.

The Yankees should be favored by those following MLB news, and they’ve won six of their last 10 at home against the Rangers, with five games going over the posted total. Ogando was fortunate to take a no-decision away from his first trip to the Bronx, and the Rangers had dropped two straight games in Minnesota before getting a day off to travel to New York, while the Yankees will host Cleveland on Monday. Still, the Yankees will be going for a sweep on Monday and should be full of confidence, and after losing in last year’s ALCS to the Rangers, motivation is always a factor for New York. Look for Sabathia to bounce back from a poor outing as the Yankees will give Ogando his first loss of the 2011 season. Take New York in your online sports betting picks.
