Minnesota Twins vs. Toronto Blue Jays Betting Preview

Minnesota Twins against Toronto Blue JaysThe Toronto Blue Jays are in need of a powerful finishing kick just before the 2013 All-Star break. They hope to make ground in the A.L. East when they host the Minnesota Twins.

Minnesota Twins @ Toronto Blue Jays – Saturday, July 6

In an online casino, it is a fact of life that you have to take gambles. In this game, though, the gamble would be to bet on Minnesota, and that doesn’t seem like a particularly prudent play.

It’s true that Minnesota defeated Toronto in five games in the 1991 American League Championship Series, en route to the Twins’ second World Series title in five seasons (the other one coming in 1987). However, regardless of the pay per head sites you prefer, you will have to acknowledge that the Blue Jays are now a team that has more of a future and more of a chance to make the playoffs within the confines of the 2013 season.

Divisional Battles Heat Up This Weekend

Baseball betting picksWhen the legal online sports betting experts look at the MLB standings at this point in the season, there are several divisional races that stand out. The AL East is so tight that only nine games separates the top team from the bottom team. In the NL West, only three games keep the last place San Francisco Giants from vaulting into first place. It has been a long time since the sports betting services have seen close battles like this and they are definitely fun to watch.

There are only a couple of weekends left before the All-Star game and the midway point of the season. The All-Star break is usually a turning point for many teams and that turn can go bad or good. As this weekend approaches, the top sports betting sites have several games that they are keeping a very close eye on.

Saturday – Baltimore Orioles @ New York Yankees

O’s set for AL East spot after Yankees sweep

AL East spot after Yankees sweepBaltimore are likely to clinch an AL East playoff place at the loss of the New York Yankees following the Orioles’ three-game series sweep of the Bombers last weekend.

With Boston running away with this division second is the only prize left and these two teams are likely to push each other all season long. Yet this weekend’s series exposed some real deficiencies in the Yankees rotation and proved how this strong Orioles batting order will hit them into October.

Heading into the series with a 1-5 record from their past six games, few sports betting punters backed Buck Showalter’s side to turn up against a Yankees team primed to leapfrog them into AL East second place. It almost started so well for New York as they led Friday’s late game by three until the sixth, when the O’s offense ripped into CC Sabathia and pinched four runs to take the first clash.

MLB BettingThe Major League Baseball All-Star Game will be played on July 16. Teams have just two weeks left in which to make an impression before getting a few days off.

Game 1: Baltimore Orioles @ New York Yankees – Saturday, July 6

When making your next play at any of the premier sports betting sites on the market, it is going to be hard to pick against the Yankees in this tilt. In the middle of the season, with the frail and tenuous months of April and May in the rearview mirror, veteran pitchers generally step up and realize the stakes involved whenever they take the mound. Veteran pitchers are problem solvers, and when the weather gets hot, they keep their cool. Andy Pettitte has been through so many baseball wars for the New York Yankees. He’s not as durable as he once was, and he’s battling the effects of Father Time, but he’s still the kind of pitcher you want to have on the mound in a big game against a divisional rival. Baltimore got the better of the Yankees this past weekend on its home field, making this series in New York that much more important for the Yankees. Expect Pettitte to be able to outduel Baltimore starter Chris Tillman, lifting the Yankees past the Orioles in this important weekend series.
