New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox – Saturday, September 14The New York Yankees make their last regular-season visit to Boston this weekend. Will this be the last time Mariano Rivera pitches in Fenway Park, or will the Yanks make the playoffs?

Game 1: New York Yankees @ Boston Red Sox – Saturday, September 14

When making your next play at any of the premier sports betting sites on the market, it is prudent to realize that pitching matchups acquire a great deal of primacy in the middle of September. If pitcher has been laboring through a long and grueling season without much of any success, can that pitcher really be trusted under pressure? It’s true that from 2007 through 2012, C.C. Sabathia was one of the best pitchers in baseball. With the Milwaukee Brewers and then with the Yankees, Sabathia shouldered a huge workload and could be trusted to win the games the Yankees absolutely had to win. Sabathia’s mind and body were both able to withstand the pressure of performing in New York for baseball’s most storied franchise. Few men in baseball, in either the National or the American League, threw as many pitches as Sabathia did in his prime. The burly lefthander was an elite workhorse who doubled as a stopper. He was an ace who ate up innings. He didn’t just shut down opponents. He usually shut down opponents and took games either into or through the eighth inning. In New York, Sabathia often went eight complete innings to serve as a bridge to Mariano Rivera. He was as dependable as any starter in the sport.

MLB PredictionsThe final stretch of the MLB betting season is here, and that means it’s time to jump on some of the legitimate playoff contenders and ride them to online sports betting success. The top teams in the American League are jockeying for position with a pair of AL West contenders facing favorable matchups this weekend, while the AL East-leading Boston Red Sox are in for a tough test against a New York Yankees’ team that is fighting to stay alive in the postseason race.

Boston Red Sox @ New York Yankees
Friday, 7:05 PM ET

The Yankees are just three games back of an AL Wild Card spot, but already eight games back of Boston in the division and can’t afford to slide any further if they want to keep their hopes alive. New York will need its starting pitching to perform at an elite level, and that includes Friday’s starter Andy Pettitte, who has managed to stay above .500 despite a 4.01 ERA. Pettitte had won three-straight before failing to get the decision in his last appearance, but has now gone five-straight sportsbook reviews contests without allowing more than two earned runs. Felix Doubront has led the Red Sox to wins in three-straight starts and has the better ERA at 3.89, but the Yankees are the more desperate of the two teams and will have the home field advantage.

The NL Central Just Keeps Getting Interesting As the Weekend Approaches

MLB bettingThe NL Central pennant race is something that everyone who has a stake in the 2013 World Series futures has been watching. It has been a three-horse race since the All-Star break and it looks like it will finish that way when September is over. When the week started, the St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates were locked in a dead heat for the pennant with the Cincinnati Reds only three and a half games behind. It looks like the two teams that will lose out on the NL Central pennant are probably going to be the two NL wild card teams, but the pennant is what these three teams are really fighting for this weekend.

Saturday – Los Angeles Dodgers @ Cincinnati Reds

The attitudes of the betting experts towards the Los Angeles Dodgers have changed a lot since the All-Star break ended. When the All-Star break started, the Dodgers were considered a disappointment and the NL West pennant was up for grabs. Ever since the All-Star break ended, the Dodgers are living up to their potential and running away with the NL West pennant. The Dodgers also play some pretty good ball on the road as well. The Reds have been slipping as of late and taking on the Dodgers in an important home series is not going to help the Reds’ confidence. The Reds will give it their best shot, but this weekend matchup belongs to the Dodgers.

Baseball Free PicksThere are few more miserable experiences in sports than second-rate Major League Baseball teams playing out the string with a full month left in the regular season.

Game 1: Kansas City Royals @ Toronto Blue Jays – Saturday, August 31 - bet at TopBet.eu.

When making your next play at any of the premier sports betting sites on the market, it is prudent to realize that while the Kansas City Royals have absolutely crumbled, losing a full week’s worth of games without interruption, they’re still basically a .500 ballclub. The Toronto Blue Jays, on the other hand, are worse than 15 games under .500. Kansas City is an average team, while Toronto is a bad one. One can’t be too sure of the outcome when two teams have both been sliding downward in the standings over the past two weeks – that much has to be conceded. However, if one did have to choose between these two clubs, one would be much more inclined to go with Kansas City, whose young hitters want to be able to lay a foundation for a 2014 season that looks genuinely promising at this moment.
