2010 World Series No Exception As Storied Series Set To Start Wednesday

2010 World Series Betting PredictionsWith the 2010 World Series set to get underway this Wednesday, the online sports betting attention shifts to baseball for the next two weeks, with the Texas Rangers and San Francisco Giants battling for the ultimate MLB betting respect. Whether it is the unique pitching match ups, the heroes that have emerged for both teams, or the way in which both teams have gotten to the finale, Major League Baseball’s championship series will feature a plethora of key storylines to follow.

First and foremost is the pitching, as arguably the two best pitchers in baseball betting lead their teams in to the World Series. San Francisco’s Tim Lincecum is the reigning Cy Young award winner, and first to take the trophy in each of his first two seasons in the league, so there is really no questioning where he ranks. Meanwhile for Texas, Cliff Lee ranks third on the all-time ERA list for pitchers that have made at least five starts in the postseason. Lee is 3-0 in these playoffs with a 0.75 ERA, pushing his record to 7-0 over the past two playoffs. Both pitchers will take center stage when the series opens on Wednesday, with the potential for a rematch in either game four or five depending on how the first week plays out.

A big part of how this series will go will depend on the performances of two players in particular that have broken out this postseason, in Texas’ outfielder Nelson Cruz and NLCS MVP Cody Ross for the Giants. Despite Josh Hamiltion setting an ALCS record with four home runs in the series’ win over the New York Yankees, Cruz has been consistent through the first two round with five homers so far. The outfielder has provided the team with a spark to help get to the World Series, and will be called upon to be just as good over the final few games of the betting postseason. Meanwhile, Ross has hit four home runs, including two against Roy Halladay of the Philadelphia Phillies in the NLCS, and has drove in eight runs. What makes his Northbet review performance even more impressive is that he has been just as good on defense. Considering that the only reason San Francisco only claimed him off waivers to prevent him from going to the division rival San Diego Padres, his story ranks among the best this postseason.

While the Giants return to the World Series for the first time in eight years, the Rangers are in the championship series for the first time in franchise history. While San Francisco has needed six one-run wins to get to where they are, Texas has shown flashes of absolute dominance over their eight wins. The Rangers are favored based on their high-octane offense, but will need their quality pitching to continue to have a chance. Either way, the 2010 World Series should feature plenty of story lines and drama.
