2009 Pocono 500 Betting Odds

Tony Stewart holds down first place in the driver standings as the Sprint Cup Series heads to Pocono Raceway for Sunday afternoon's Pocono 500.

Stewart finished second to Jimmie Johnson over the weekend in the Autism Speaks 400 at Dover, a result which was good enough to vault him over Jeff Gordon into top spot in the standings. Gordon finished well back in 26th place at the Dover event.

Greg Biffle, Matt Kenseth, Kurt Busch, Kasey Kahne, Carl Edwards, Ryan Newman, Casey Mears, and Mark Martin rounded out the Top 10 at the Autism Speaks 400. Dale Earnhardt Jr. was 12th, Kyle Busch was 23rd, and Denny Hamlin finished 36th.

Stewart now holds a 46-point lead on Gordon in the driver standings, with Johnson 64 points back in third place. Kurt Busch, Newman, Kyle Busch, Hamlin, Kenseth, Biffle, Jeff Burton, Edwards, and Martin round out the current Top 12.

Kahne won the Pocono 500 last year, while Edwards visited victory lane in the Pennsylvania 500 at that track last August. Edwards also won the Pocono 500 back during the 2005 season.

Gordon has four career Cup wins at Pocono, most recently at the Pocono 500 in 2007. Johnson, Hamlin, and Kurt Busch have a pair of Cup wins apiece at the circuit, while Newman and Stewart took the checkered flag there in 2003 races.
