 Lance Armstrong is the big news of the 96 edition of the Tour de France which starts Saturday in Monaco.
The Texan's return to the race that took him to the highest summit of world sport focuses all the attention and overshadows the other figures, as the Spaniards Alberto Contador and Carlos Sastre, champions of the last two years.
Seven-time Tour champion turned himself into a feud. Vacation was three years ... And these holidays already ended.
The big question is how could a rider of almost 38 years for three seasons got off the bike, at least competitively. Many things happened in this time the Spaniards built a dynasty ended and doping to become the main topic around the pedals.
Under normal circumstances the surname Armstrong should not appear on the barbecue favorite, on the age and the rust of course several months without competing. However, it is a cancer survivor, which speaks of his ability to overcome adversity.

 Unlike previous versions, the tenth edition of Gold Cup football will start today (Friday), will have a different taste because it will traverse much of the geography of the United States.
The 12 teams that come to the playing fields were divided into Groups A (Canada, Jamaica, Costa Rica and El Salvador), B (United States, Grenada, Haiti and Honduras) and C (Mexico, Guadeloupe, Panama and debutante Nicaragua).
The tournament will be launched on Friday at the Home Depot Center in Los Angeles (California), with a dual program that faces Canada against Jamaica and Costa Rica to El Salvador.
The current betting line for Canada vs. Jamaica is PK with total of 2.5 Under, and the betting line for Costa Rica vs. El Salvador is Costa Rica - 250 favorite.
As with the previous appointment, United States, Mexico, Honduras and Costa Rica emerging as strong candidates for the title, especially the first two, who have lifted the Cup four times each.
The Americans were imposed in 1991 citations, 2002, 2005 and 2007, while the Aztecs defeated in 1993, 1996, 1998 and 2003.

 The Wimbledon women's final will be another duel between the Williams sisters, Venus and Serena after he won on Thursday at the Russian Elena Dementieva and Dinara Safina, respectively.
Venus will seek his third consecutive title Saturday after crushing 6-1, 6-0 to world number one in the Dinara Safina, while Serena saved one match point against the marker and back to defeat 6-7 (4), 7-5, 8-6 to Elena Dementieva.
Current betting line for the women´s semifinal is Venus Williams - 150
Is the eighth in a major final between the American sisters, and fourth in the All England Club.
Serena needed 2 hours, 49 minutes to overcome Dementieva in the longest women's semifinal at Wimbledon in the last 40 years. Venus, however, was barely 51 minutes to dispatch to Safina.
My gosh, this is my eighth final and is a dream come true to be here again and have the opportunity to lift the trophy, Venus said, five times champion at Wimbledon.
Venus beat Serena in the final last year, although the smallest of the late Williams won the 2002 and 2003.
