As the world prepared for the game in the NFC Championship between the Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints, the New York Giants and the San Francisco 49ers had other plans: using solid defense and great activities by quarterbacks who know what is being questioned, the NFC rivals aged dispatched Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers to set the table for an unexpected bereavement.
The 49ers overcame a brilliant effort of the Saints by one of the things they do best: the 49ers (the second team with more fumbles and interceptions in the season) took five balls delivered by New Orleans. Despite this, Brees and his team managed to turn their offense producing 472 yards against the usually reliable defense of the 'prospectors', if the 49ers would win that game, it would be on the defensive. That's when Alex Smith was a revelation. The question often 49ers quarterback threw for 299 yards but, more importantly, showed mettle guiding San Francisco to recover from two late deficits that would have intimidated any quarterback, achievement culminated with a pass that is already part of the history of 49ers Vernon Davis with just seconds left.

The betting market never stops in Las Vegas and the Conference Championship games of the NFL are a perfect excuse to spend a couple of dollars, but you should be aware that there is always the chance of losing.
The San Francisco 49ers visited by the New York Giants in the race for the crown of the National Conference (NFC). The premises are favorites for winning this match for 2.5 points. The line was not higher because many gambling experts were surprised by the way New Yorkers removed to Green Bay last weekend. The Packers were the best team this season, finished with a record of 15-1 and were the favorite candidates to reach the Super Bowl XLVI to be played on February 5 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
Surely it must be respect for the Giants, who with an iron-on defensive set Justin Tuck, Osi Umenyiora and Jason Pierre-Paul-as well as receive help with the distribution of team Green Bay receivers, were able to control the powerful Packers' offense, led by Aaron Rodgers pin, in the Lambeau Field and came away with a fist raised in victory.

Earlier this month, college sports betting enthusiasts were left wanting more, after one of the most lackluster BCS Bowl games since the NCAA instituted the format almost 14 years ago. The Alabama Crimson Tide won their second National Title in three seasons when they destroyed the LSU Tigers 21 to nothing. During the game, the Crimson Tide defense stepped to the forefront, as they did not allow the LSU offense to make it over the 50 yard line. However, while the price per head fans of Alabama and LSU were thrilled to watch their teams battle it out for the nations top championship, the rest of the NCAA watched with a foul taste in their mouths.
Essentially, under the current BCS format, the two best teams in the country ranked first and second are supposed to face one another. In other years, the first and second ranked teams have also been the champions of their specific conferences they naturally reside in. Yet, this season, the top two ranked teams came from the same conference, despite Alabama, not only not being the SEC Champion, but not even being placed in the SEC Championship game. In other words, the two best teams didn’t actually face each other for the BCS National Title game.
