When the NFL schedule makers decided that the AFC East would play the NFC North this season, there was probably a collective groan coming from Orchard Park, NY. It is doubtful that the sports betting experts will make the Bills a favorite in any of the games against the NFC North, even the Detroit Lions.
First up for the Bills from the NFC North is the strong Super Bowl favorite Green Bay Packers. The NFL betting lines makers want it understood, in no uncertain terms, that the Bills are no match for the Packers by establishing a 13 and one-half point line for this game in favor of the Packers.
The Packers looked a little shaky in their opener against the Philadelphia Eagles, but the Pack toughed it out and came out with the 27-20 win. The defense for the Packers played tough, but the offense looked a little out of sync as quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw an uncharacteristic two interceptions in one game. Green Bay was able to keep the offense moving enough and the defense was able to adjust to having Michael Vick in at quarterback after Kevin Kolb was sidelined with a concussion.

The two most explosive match of the day surely will be held on Monday, with the Dallas Cowboys getting to the Washington Redskins in their spectacular new stadium and the tough defense of the Baltimore Ravens visit the new Meadowlands Stadium to face the architect of this defense, Rex Ryan and his talented New York Jets led by Mark Sanchez on Monday night.
The Washington Redskins entered the game with a project that looks interesting led by world champion head coach Mike Shanahan and quarterback Donovan McNabb again, but the Cowboys look strong despite his poor season. The Lone Star Redskins swept a very different last year and then beat the Eagles QB three times without defeat. The meeting promises to emotions, but in the end the Cowboys look superior.
The divisional games had all summer to cook over low heat and seem to come with more intensity than ever to Sunday 12. The Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills will be in the Sun Life Stadium. The Dolphins have a number of offensive weapons that did not shine in the NFL betting preseason but are ready to explode at the right time.

Those who bet on NCAA football will have three games featuring a pair of top-20 teams this weekend, but the most intriguing matchup could be in Norman, where Oklahoma will welcome Florida State to town in a battle of teams looking to make a name for themselves. The Sooners have been one of the top programs of the BCS era, while the Seminoles fell off a bit when the BCS came around. Who wins out?
Florida State Oklahoma Betting – Saturday, September 11th, 3:30 PM ET
The No.20 Seminoles warmed up for Oklahoma with a 59-6 destruction of Samford, dropping 35 of their 42 points in the second half. In his first action since last November, when he separated his shoulder, Christian Ponder went 12-of-14 for 167 yards, four touchdowns and a pick for the Seminoles, who put up 481 yards of offense. Those who bet on NFL lines should keep an eye on Ponder, who many feel will be a darkhorse Heisman candidate this year, but it wasn’t all good for Florida State against Samford.
